Hi - My 2 rear windows are already tinted, I am going to tint the other two (side door and opposite) - plus the rear (I have a reversing cam) - a couple of questions...
- How can I ascertain what tint I already have so I can match the new tint? (perhaps ask the local plod to meter it?!? :-p )
- I have a mesh type covering on my rear window - I hear it's quite simple to remove using a warm air - it this right?
- Is there a step by step guide to removign the windows or is it really just a case of undoing a few screws?
Thanks in advance

Re: Window Tinting questions
Hi
Removing the windows:
Easier with a "sucker" tool...cheap enough on e-bay...the glass is quite heavy. Can be done without, as long as there's 2 of you. Tints...find a dealer who's willing to post you a few different off-cuts to compare, or just bite the bullet and use limo black all round, and just do all of them the same!
Cheers

Depends where you are located. If around Wigan / St Helens then Bigdaddycain and daveblueozzie have had past experience in doing this and the pros and cons of the laws involved.

Re: Window Tinting questions
Legally Im fine - I'm only doing the sides (not front sides) and rear.
I could do all 5 but it means removing the existing tint on the two rear-most sides - and they are in pretty good condition.
I get the impression that the windows are easy to remove. I'll have a play - if that is the case then I'll redo the lot in Limo tint. Which leads me to another question....
Limi tint (5% I believe) - does it make the interior unduly dark in the summer?

Hi
No...not too dark inside...not in my perception, but I like the privacy, and shade in the bright sunlight. Night-time you just need a brighter reversing lamp...no problems
Cheers

Ok - how about this - can anyone , from their experience, give a guess as to my current tint from these pictures? (I'm keen not to have to redo the rears as I'll have to do quite a bit of dissasembling of my conversion to get to the rear-most screws (removing rear trim, which means removing bed, rear wardrobe, etc).
I'm quite happy to get a couple of rolls from ebay and try 2 tints if opinions are divided...

Re: Window Tinting questions
Update - I've ordered a sample of 95% (limo) and 80% off ebay for a couple of quid so I should know soon enough. Do feel free to take a guess though!
