Think iam tanking out my veg oil kit for a while,as i think iam in for a new head.
Just wonder what % of veg oil you guys are running on.
why i ask is that iam off to see alan in plymouth soon, and want it to be standard for h im to work on.and i have a tank full of about 50% veg oil and diesel at moment,if that will be ok i will top up with diesel when i get there.
prob use half a tank by t he time i get there.
As iam on the kit ive flushed down on diesel so it will start fine and no veg oil in pump or fuel lines ect.
Thanks guys, its not that iam worried about using it just dont want to make it any harder for anyone to work on.
what % of veg oil are you guys on at moment

Been on 100% diesel over the winter but emptied 2 x 3 litre cans of KTC into the tank and brimmed it with diesel. Starting noticeably harder, so will wait until weather warms up more.
that 17C last week was a false alarm!

Jez, I reckon the 25%, that you'll end up with after topping up at the end of your trip, should be fine. I always ran at 25% in winter.

I agree with chipvan, 10% shouldn't even be noticed at any time of yearDiplomat wrote:Been on 100% diesel over the winter but emptied 2 x 3 litre cans of KTC into the tank and brimmed it with diesel. Starting noticeably harder, so will wait until weather warms up more.

It runs fine as once it has started.
I don't think that I've got the world's best glow plugs at the moment and am waiting for more clement weather to sort this out. Previously I've run more than 25% in the winter.

Thanks guys, decided just to link out the kit when i get to plymouth, and fill up with diesel.so it will run as normal.
That way it will be standard, but the valves and pipes are there if i want to re connect later on.
I removed the heatexchanger that is connected to the rear heater hoses but i made a bit of extra work for alan,i cat the hose off but happend to cut though rear heater matrix hose tails(plastic!!)
so will need a rear heater as well now!!!
