Locking wheel nuts

Post by downward dog » Tue Mar 06, 2012 2:53 pm

Hi all,
My Bongo came over fitted with alloy wheels, and it's about time to put them back on (currently winter tyres on steel)...I had a look on search here, and on ebay for locking nuts, and as usual it's a bit complicated as some sites say for aftermarket wheels only... as original wheels may not be the same (is it to do with the 60 degree taper?) anyone advise me what to buy as some types are non specific, and the price seems to vary between about £7 and £40 !

I have had M12x1.5 McGard 24195SU locking wheel nuts on my alloys for the past five years. Got them from Halfruds who currently sell them for £36.99 a set. You might get them cheaper elsewhere.

Try giving Mike at Wheelquick a ring and explain what wheels you have and I'm sure he will sort you out.

Just to complete the post, I bought a set of British (Grayston) nuts from car_chrome (for Mazda Bongo), on ebay for about a tenner. Fitted fine and dandy.
