LB nut sizes?

Post by Manny » Sat Mar 03, 2012 1:18 pm

I replaced my LB with an "Xplorer 125 AH ultra deep cycle battery" bought on line from Alpha batteries. It comes with dual connectors, pillars and threaded. I would like to use the threaded connector but don't know what size nuts to use. The positive and negative are different sizes but I don't know what thread they are. They are not metric as non of my standard metric nuts fit correctly. I have searched on t'internet, I have telephoned and emailed Alpha who did not tell me what sizes but that they would send me some which have never arrived. So I am still non the wiser. Does anyone have the same battery and can tell me the nuts sizes, PLEASE.

Not sure there is a standard, but 3/8" is common for the Negative or both, and 1/2" is sometimes used for Positive, however 5/16" is also used, no details of the threads themselves - however don't use a steel based nut/washer etc otherwise your likely to suffer serious corrosion problems!
