Llanberis Slate Museum 16 February 2012

Post by friendeedebs » Thu Feb 09, 2012 11:14 pm

We're off to the Slate Museum for a free day out Thursday 16 February if anyone fancies meeting up :)
http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/whatson/?event_id=3296 though they do charge for parking, think it's £3 but don't quote me on that

There's also the train that runs along the lake ... that isn't free but is good fun http://www.lake-railway.co.uk/fares.html

The event runs from the 16th to the 19th of Feb so it's a bit of a heads up for a good day out too for anyone mad enough to either live or be camping in Wales in February

Would love to come, but alas this year we're not going to do a last minute dash to Wales for a one night free camp stop ..

Fab place and hopefully, we can get there again in April :)

Out of the slate museum, turn right onto the road to carnarvon (A4086)
Look out for the Lake View Hotel on the left, and take the next right (B4574)
Turn right at sign for Deiniolen, follow road through village to bus turnaround at the end of the road, and take footpath through gate, through the quarry, to the viewing platform.
Cameras essential !
