rear speakers (for starters anyway)

Post by oscardoo » Sat Feb 11, 2012 9:09 pm

hello all, we've owned 'stan the van' a green 2.5 td autotop since last april & have been keeping a real low profile as we're clueless on al things mechanical and he's been running kike a dream, but we want to fit some speakers to the rear grilles as it appears we don't have any?!
he's an early 'm' plate with split rear seats so i don't know if that has a bearing??
i tried to pop the grilles off earlier to have a look at what we needed / how to do it, but it didn't seem that simple, are there speakers? is there wiring? how do we remove the grilles, etc etc???
we're based in doncaster, i work in sheffield (bongo central) so hopefully some kind soul can come to our rescue.
as i said we're clueless but want stan to be all he can be.

thanks one & all for sticking with me.....

:D

chris, jackie, the Gs & oscar the dog!

The grilles don't just pop off, unfortunately. They are held on with 'plastic rivets' which are melted over on the rear side.

You have to un-bolt and remove the rear seats, then un-clip the side panel to get to the speaker mountings inside.

No idea if there will be wiring waiting for you there - only one way to be sure though.....

You may see a white 2 wire connector block behind the grill.. If you do you might have the wiring in place...??

This may help..? http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... ker+grills
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
