Fuse for dash and rear lights blows when engine's turned on.

Post by weeginger73 » Sun Jan 15, 2012 7:40 pm

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can give us a suggestion of what might be wrong.

I have a year 2000 Bongo Friendee Aero Cityrunner. The fuse for the lights on the dash and the rear lights has started blowing each time we turn on the engine. When we change the fuse and check the lights all work they do work fine with the engine off, but as soon as we turn the key and start the engine the fuse blows again.

We mentioned it to our mechanic who said he doesnt know what could be causing it. He hasnt actually had a look at it yet and we're taking it to him next week, but I was hoping to be able to offer him some suggestions from the expertees here.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

all i can think is that one of he rear bulbs filaments has shorted across & taken out the brake lights & side light but then you would have no brake lights also. have you had a radio fitted resent ? maybe illimination wire connected wrong.

Thanks for your help. We had a new radio fitted about 10 months ago and the lights worked fine until now. Still an avenue worth exploring though.
