Hi all
Im not sure of the name for this bit but the mileometre( ithink) has stopped working on my truck just coming up on 60000km the speedo works fine and has been altered to mph. I cant imagine they are hard to get at as you change the speedo face. Has anyone suffered this problem before and any idea how to start. will the part be easy to come by or does anyone know of a bit that will fit and possibly convert to miles.
Regards
Bigboy.

Re: Mileometre
You can do a direct swap for a speedo from a Mazda 626. IIRC, it needs to be around 1997 vintage. The correct one has "GA5R" printed on the face. These read accurately in Miles & MPH.
Obviously, if you have a conversion chip fitted to correct KPH to MPH, you'll have to remove this. If you just have a face change it is a straight swap.
You can 'reset' the mileage to the correct value if you are gentle, or just make a note of the true figure and the new figure.

Owing to the fact that all the wheels are trying to transfer at the same time (59999).they might need a helping hand (slight push).
Also try resetting the trip a few times.
Re: Mileometer
I've get this problem on mine every 10,000km. I have to take the unit out (quite easy - just unbolt the cowl around the clocks then unbolt the whole clocks panel and pull out, then unclip the two wiring looms.
The plastic glass unclips fairly easily. You can unbolt the speedo from the back (circuit board) and get access to the white plastic cogs. Just shift the stuck wheel on with a small screwdriver and all will be well.... at least for anothe 10,000km !
I have a suspicion that my speedo has been "clocked" which is why the 10,000 mile cog is damaged causing it to stick.
Good luck.
