Could you have a faulty immobiliser? I have the same problem on my Jeep. Factory fitted immoboliser that has started draining the battery after a couple of weeks. No battery problem, isolated it holds its charge but with the immobiliser on there is a continual power drain.

As its getting on a bit, the Jeep is nearly as old as the Bongo, my solution will be to replace the immobiliser with something up to date.

As your problem started from the fitting something similar could be happening.

what year is your car? under the bonnet in the fusebox, does it have a 'MAIN RELAY'
