Just purchased a 2002 2.5 Diesel Tintop (un-converted) from a garage / importer based in Birmingham and Basingstoke. This was a recent import from Japan and is the first time it has been registered in the UK. Collected the car on Friday last week and have noticed one major problem and was wondering if anyone has come across this before.
Got it fully registered with a 2002 reg plate and got a 12 month MOT and Road Fund Licence. Only problem is there is no rear Fog Light. Now before you all say check one of the reversing lights has not been adapted - I have two fully functioning reversing lights and more importantly I don't have a switch on the dash or anywhere within the reach of the driver.
How is it possible to get past the SVA test and get an MOT without a rear fog light???
I will be going back to the garage to ask the question but I am just trying to get as many thoughts on the subject before I do,
Cheers
Mark

Re: 2002 Tintop Question - No Fog Light
We just got a 2001 converted tin top from JAL and they have added a rear brake light so I'm assuming it's required.

I'm 99% convinced rear fog light is part of the MOT. When I had my MOT done the other week I saw them check it was working correctly.
