car alarm
Im in the process of fitting an alarm to my bongo and the instructions are asking if the central door lock trigger is either negative trigger or a positive trigger how can i test this to find out
The lock has 5 wires from it 1 is live.
Any ideas anyone.

Re: car alarm
does your car have remote locking already? if not then you need to fit a motor to the drivers door and configure your alarm as 2 wire control system, even if you have remote locking its often more easy to just take control of the installed motor still using the 2 wire system.

Re: car alarm
the door already has a motor in it, so you only need to control it with the alarm, with the door panel off, look for a grouping of four wires, the control wires are a red and a green. Its NOT a pulse controlled locking system so dont even try and interface at the control unit, just configure your alarm as 2 wire control and just control the existing door motor in the drivers door

Re: car alarm

Thats standard direct 2 wire control, negative/positive pulse interfaces directly with the vehicle central locking unit controllaing ALL motors from the unit, which is a mission with the bongo control system, by sending a either a single negative or a positive pulse of a programmable length (for comfort close), or in the new VW's directly into the vehicles canbus system. 3T's has a 5 wire motor which can be used to control a central locking kit or configured to replace a vehicle standard lock and its fucntion.
3T, use only the blue and green wire and use the motor as a basic 2 wire controller, leave the 3 control wires alone (black/brown/white)
