Central locking failed again

Post by gasace » Sun Nov 06, 2011 5:14 pm

Last week the central locking failed again, so I thought I would take my own advice :D see http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=48843 even though I had just repaired the wiring loom. Sure enough the wire I had joined with a straight through crimp had broken again. I removed the crimp and soldered a short bit of wire into the loom. All OK now hope this repair lasts a bit longer :?

[-o< [-o< [-o< Got my fingers crossed for you! Was the repair in the loom where it comes through the door? I'd remove the plastic sleeve "strengthener" as that (in my opinion) stresses the loom after a while.

That's exactly where it was, I left the sleave off this time just taped it up. I tied it very loosely to the hinge, so it can move but not get trapped. If it fails again I will spend a day replacing the loom wire by wire
