oil level check

hi all , i have a bongo friendee 98 model i've been trying to find the dipstick to check my oil level. i've checked the manual and tech section but cant sus it out, looked under the drivers and passenger seat moved them backwards and forwards do i have to tilt the seat if so how do i do that! i've had a look under the console in the middle and i cant see any bloody dip stick. also what sort of oil do i use for an automatic? thanks again andy. :oops:

Hopefully these pics will help too

Slide the seat back.
Remove the centre console, this is done by unscrewing the plastic screws (arrowed) one is under the ashtray.

Remove console.
Lift the carpet at the front of the seat and undo the 2 clips (arrowed)

Undo the 3rd clip, which in under the carpet near the hand brake, the seat will now tilt back.

This will give you access to the engine bay, the same is done for the drivers side too.

I suggest if you are going to put oil in use a funnel with a tube.
