engine number ,where is it

i have to reregister my 2002 mazda petrol bongo on the isle of man . the form asks for the engine number ,the english registration cert says not known, any one any ideas thanks carol

On the diesel, it's on the front left side of engine block. No doubt it will be different on the petrol - is yours 2l or 2.5?. You don't have to remove the head to find it though

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with that engine, but try looking at the top of the block either for a plate or more likely a series of numbers stamped into the metal. It may need to be cleaned up with a wire brush to read the details clearly.
