So do most people in Scotland. Apart from the extreme snow a couple of years ago (and maybe again this winter) then 2WD is fine. As long as you avoid any really snowy periods, there's no reason to be scared.

We have roads and everything up here! :D

Hopefully we can make it too. That weekend is my birthday though!

We stayed there in June this year and it is a lovely part of Scotland. To truly appreciate the beauty, it helps being a couple of thousand feet higher up.

That's not why I got the Bongo... :?

Anyone fancy a mini-meet in February wildcamping by the side of the A9, waiting for it to open...? ;)

Yeh but, do your lot all wear flat caps, clogs and drive Tractors?

Thanks for the chuckle/banter. =D>

Had a chat with a good friend who is also a Bongo Owner today and she is up for the trip, so there may be two families from Pendle joining this meet.

Chell I guess that if Ady's with you he will be dragging you up the A7 through the Scottish Borders looking for the perfect Scots Breakfast, the stuff that they sell on the A74 motoway is rubbish. Join up with your convoy when you pass bye.

Ok, back to reality after Christmas etc - do we need to book with the site or have a few places been reserved - does Chrissie need the dosh or do we send to the site etc.

I know it's not likely to be busy but it would be a shame to get up there and find it's full of VW campers or other inferior types

Not yet, still waiting on the pension people to tell me how much they owe me. Almost six months and two phone calls to Edinburgh, one by me and one by the bloke next door who works on NHS pensions in Melrose, and I am still waiting for the estimate.

Has'nt stopped me from doing some reseach though. We know what we want now so it is all down to the money. But I will be sorry to see the Bongo go but what can I do about an ultimation. " No Motorhome with a toilet and a Bed that I can work myself or no holiday in Ireland this year".

I emailed the site in October and got a big fat zero reply. However that is not unusual as the last time I tried to book they told me they had 26000 acres to put us on #-o I think that last time they eventually took us seriously and .co.uk managed to get them to reserve a space. There is a good chance I will be up there before April and will drop in to see if we can get space set aside.

Numbers to me please by end February by pm would be good thanks !
And we don't need to pay in advance just pay on arrival. =D>

Are we decided on the date yet? 21/22 April was mentioned earlier. 28/29 would be better for me.
