In the wiring diagrams its referred to as the Purge Solenoid B4-14;
on the lush projects its 18-740E see here
http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... o=.html#19
Can't say I have heard of anyone having a problem with it but maybe A1tony will pop up with the results he had in the other thread. The similar solenoids for the Diesel seem to be available so I can't see that if it is faulty it would be too expensive. Mind you if its clicking it might be working OK, the question really should perhaps be why is it clicking so much - I can't say I have ever heard on ours! (perhaps ours is faulty!!!!).

Hope it isn't camshaft wear that a few others have had on their V6s - not a problem that T4s have

I agree totally dandy but yours isn't a mid engined v6

when are you gonna drop it to the floor on some 18" rs alloys on Oh! and ofcourse paint it a really sick green or yellow colour
Don't suppose you get ignition probs with it either

Sorry I completely missed this thread other than the PM mentioned.
I could I suppose do a drive around with the passenger seat up and see if I can isolate the tapping. I have now done 12,000 miles since noticing it and the van has been fine. It only does it pulling away on light throttle and soon disappears as the box goes through the gears. I did wonder if there was too much tranny fluid in it, but like I say, it seems happy enough...
