FLIP DOWN TV + WHERE TO FIX IT..PLEASE!

Post by yorkshirelass » Thu Oct 20, 2011 5:12 pm

Seems my portable 10" flat screen tv/dvd has no fixing brackets/plate. Do I need a new one[tv] or can I buy a bracket/plate to accommodate it; plus...where do people 'fix' their tv's ? I am wanting it to 'flip down, then flip back when not in use.
Fingers crossed someone knows !!
Thanks

Hi Pam,

Have a search for tv in previous posts submitted. There are some great posts detailing where and how to do it.

Its not easy to fit one if your Bongo is a flip top. If you mount it between the two front seats it would need to sit so far forward that the Police may take a dim view (ahem..) as you will be able to see it from the driving position.

I gave up and fitted 2 smaller ones in the headrests that work just fine.

Obviously if you have a tin top you might not have this problem....

Hi Tony,
Sorry for the confusion....I meant a flip top tv...not a bongo. Yes mine in an AFT... hence the problem. Glad you got yours sorted, but such a small screen as yours...would sadly be no good for me !!

Just nipped out and took these pics of our TV.It is mounted just behind the AFT roof switch.Don't know what sort of mounting bracket it is,it was already fitted when we bought the Bongo.

The TV can be swivelled to any angle.

THANKS FOR THAT MICK!!!! =D> =D> =D>

Its exactly what I want.........now think I need a new TV as mine just has a metal handle , like a photoframe...to stand it upright ; nowhere to fix any fittings.
Anyway, something for me to plan and save for !

There is a plastic cover at the back of the bongo near the rear boot light on the roof that reveals a thread enough to attach a very small bracket to if you get the right sized nut.
