Try warming it up first too to make it a bit more pliable.

New radiator on,coolant in system and bled,job done! I didn`t do the work myself,I cheated and asked my local friendly mechanic if he knew about bleeding the coolant etc and a price and George and his son ended up doing all the work for a very reasonable cost.Thanks again to all who posted the good info.Regards Eric.
