I've just ordered one having read the reviews and compared the price to the well know Pela alternative. I'll feedback on whether it's any good.

Easy to extend if not, but I'll probably add a cig plug and run it off the mains with an adaptor or the LB. I'll let you know if it's long enough.

Yes I have one and a Pela too..... It makes it very easy when at customer premises .... I always have an empty oil container to collect the sump oil and it empties most sumps in around a minute....

Bongo takes a little while longer to empty but way quicker than pela.....and I have extended my leads for various cars like real Mini's ...as it helps me....due to Mini having battery in the boot,same applies to old Fiat 500's ....battery in the front,engine in the rear.....Still use the Pela though if I have several engines to change at a go..... as I can leave that alone to do it's work....

Yes, the Pela suits me as it is simple and self contained (i.e. containered!) and I'm happy leaving it doing its thing while I do other stuff. But this looks like an interesting alternative and I'll be interested to hear the reports from Dom_e

Me too...I've had leccy fluid transfer pumps before...so rather interested to hear more...Gearbox is the no.1 target!

I had my first chance to use it today. A few notes:

1: The tubes come quite tightly coiled and are relatively stiff, so unfurling the drain end into a container was a bit of a pain. Not too big a problem.

2: the pump itself is quite difficult to locate when it's working since it has to be quite close to the dipstick. Putting it on a piece of wood in the engine bay would sort that.

3: The leccy cable length would probably be too short to reach the battery, but I ran it off a small 12v lead acid battery I have spare (just a 3.4 a/hr thing). It draws 5 amps, so it may not be a good idea to run it of an unmodified ciggy lighter socket.

4: I found it hard to tell when I'd hit the bottom of the sump, perhaps because the tube coiled. I only managed to get about 4.5 litres out, but I'll confirm when I've measured it properly.

5: It pumps well and only took a few mins.

6: It seems well enough put together and should last.

7: it says it's not for gear box oil, but I don't know how that compares with ATF in viscosity.

All in all, I'm quite happy with it on the first use, but the naturally curling tubes could do with straightening so the drain one doesn't need constant holding or cliping to the container you're trying to catch the oil in.

When I 1st used mine it reached the LB no worries (since made longer leads), agree with the pipes as tightly wound, I warmed mine in hot water on 1st use,it does get all the oil out......with the pipes not so tight.....
I find it a good tool but I have made the cables longer for Mini's & 500's with opposite end batteries......if I am stuck for power....I use the Bongo.... As I said before I also have a Pela....Both good and I can empty 2 sumps at a time....
