Bongo is 80miles away and I want to order a reverse camera/monitor. Plan is to mount the monitor in the front cubbyhole above the gearstick. I think a 7" screen should fit, but before I order...
Can anyone tell me the opening size, width at bottom (the narrow width) and height at the face of the cubby?
Thanks!
Cubbyhole size anyone?

Re: Cubbyhole size anyone?
Depth 157mm
Height 115mm
Width (bottom) 175mm
Width (top) 230mm
Be careful though, 'cos the sides slope in making it narrower at the back.

dvisor beat me to it
I'll just add that 1cm up from the bottom the width has increased to 18.5cm
and remember the height decreases as you go back - it was 11cm high 4cm into the cubby.
I guess you would mount the screen nearer to the front though.
If the external dimension of the one you are looking at is 7 inches then it would fit but the bottom of the screen would be around 3mm above the bottom of the cubby (unless the bottom of the monitor has rounded corners and then it might fit flush on the bottom)
All these measurements on a 1996 model
Let's see a photo when you're done !

Re: Cubbyhole size anyone?
You know, I reckon 7" is going to be pretty tight. I have a 4.3" satnav in mine and I need to angle it towards the driver's side in order to be able to see it. I don't reckon I'd be able to get one much bigger into the same location unless it was fitted flush with the front of the cubbyhole, and then the angle of view may be a problem. Then again, I don't want mine protruding beyond the cubbyhole (so I can put a blanking plate on it when not in use).

One thing you may wish to consider is that the drive selector gear knob set in R, may obscure the screen in this location..?
(Possibly, the bottom middle to bottom right of the view screen depending on drivers eye line..?)

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Re: Cubbyhole size anyone?
Great, thanks.
The monitor I've seen is 174 x 116 so should fit ideal.

Thanks for the replies, several came in before mine...
The model I've seen has a surround with the above dims, normally to put into a headrest so should still fit. I'm planning on it going in flush with the dash (at the front of the opening)
Good point about the gear lever though, hadn't thought about that one

This may help:

It's slightly larger than the hole, because it caps it, but will give you some idea.
This next one is smaller than the hole, so if it fits on this one, it will be fine in the cubbyhole:
