Spare key for central locking

Post by BigDave » Sun Sep 25, 2011 2:50 pm

Hi all,
I need to get a spare key that does the central locking at the touch of a button. I've tried a few local places including Timpsons (Fareham) but they can do the key but their machine doesn't read the signal from the button.
Any suggestions apart from a trip to Japan?

Thanks Dave

Have you tried a Mazda dealer?

Thanks for the reply, and yes we have and they called through to their service department who couldn't help.

Might be less expensive to get a cheap alarm fitted and then use the remotes on that.

Or just fit a new remote central locking receiver jobby - dead easy & shouldn't cost much, there's a factsheet in the members area on fitting remote central locking.
Not sure that you'll be able to get new keys coded, it's come up before & I don't remember ever seeing a succesful outcome, but we do seem to have a bunch of electronics type techies on the forum, so you never know
