How long is your SB supposed to last, we've had our Bongo just over three years now and having just returned home from a very nice long weekend away I've had to put it on charge for the last 24 hrs as it was only showing 10.6v on my meter:?:
It was either replaced in Japan or is the original as it's covered in Japanese writing

I've never had an issue with starting so just curious for now finger's crossed

Bongo no more........... ;-(

Erm we've had Mr Miagge for just about a year now and it came with it's original battery - still got and it and it's going strong.
Can't say how long it will last - the only suggestion is to find a battery expert with no vested interest in selling you a replacement!

Hi,
11.6v is quite normal if you are starting the vehicle with the glow plugs activated.
Cheers..

If the 11.6 was the standing voltage with nothing on then that is flat, flat, flat. Very close to zero percent capacity. Unless you have a smart charger with around 10 amp output you will need at least 48 hours charge to get it back to it's best.

Duncan, I take it the battery has markings like or similar too - 75D26L on it somewhere?
That is the Japanese JIS number kind of like the 068/249 DIN number the EU use.

I was told many years back that most car batteries had a useful life of around 6 yrs with every day use, not sure if that still stands, i assume you've checked the electrolite levels if possible, i also assume sealed batteries must have a vent on them so could also loose fluid through evaporation.
someone with more knowledge than myself will be along soon
