Getting 12V ignition feed with Leisure Battery installed?

Post by ThisIsTheSea » Wed Aug 31, 2011 8:41 pm

Hi there,

I have the Willinton kit installed and everything is working as it should - apart from a Bluetooth phone kit I have just installed. The Bluetooth kit plugs into the radio connectors, and as the radio is on the Leisure Battery, the Bluetooth kit stays on even with the ignition off. This has the unfortunate side-effect of my wife trying to talk to me on her phone while at a parking meter, and hearing my distant voice come out of the Bongo speakers as her phone was still close enough to be hooked up with Bluetooth. What I need is for the Bluetooth kit to take a feed from the 12V ignition rather than the stereo/Leisure Battery, so when the ignition goes off it kills the Bluetooth connection. Any idea where I would be able to get the 12V ignition feed from - could I run it from a spare fuse in the fusebox?

Thanks for any ideas.

if you wired the willinton kit to the lower of fuse 8. connect the blue tooth via the top part but put an inline fuse in.

Thats where I took the ignition feed for this thread

You could try one of these:

Though I would first check that it's the correct fuse size for the Bongo - haven't used one myself so I don't know for sure, but it looks right.

I made the modification today - worked a treat! :D As luck would have it, the Bluetooth wire already had a fuse in it, so I just ran it straight to the top pin in fuse 8.
