clock spring connector for airbag and horn

Hi,

The clock spring connector on my steering column has disintegrated, resulting in broken continuity, no horn and a flashing airbag light (6 flashes, 2 second pause, 6 flashes etc).

I'm hoping to find a compatible non-Bongo part (eg. Mazda 626) from a scrappy as it's a bit pricey new, but have got stuck. I've tried the compatible parts database and www.yiparts.com but to no avail.

The part number from lushprojects is B01A66CS0 and it's for a 2.5TD AFT July 1997 SGL5 Bongo. I'd be really grateful if anyone has any pointers for where else to look please.

I know nothing about air bags... I dont have one! Hopefully someone who does will come along?!!

Also, i cant see how they can send an air bag through the post... Must be some vague terrorist law governing "parcel explosives"???

Hi, sorry for the slow reply, I've been away. Thanks for the info, the part in the vid is the same sort of thing as mine. He's trying to fix the contacts on his, but mine is knackered inside. I got the airbag module out safely without blowing my fingers off (disconnected both batteries for a good long time). I then took the clock spring connector apart to see if the ribbon cable could be fixed, but no joy.

Btw, don't be tempted to have a look inside a working connector, it will unravel like a clock spring and you'll need 5 hands to put it back together.

It's the 66CS0 bit, but I haven't found a cheap compatible alternative. Might have to splash out on a proper one.
