Windows Misting Up

Post by James » Sun Oct 22, 2006 1:05 pm

When my engine has warmed up the windows mist up, despite altering the controlls it continues. The only way to prevent it is to use the air con all the time (which Im sure is not right. )I'm assuming it is a leak in the heater system, I am having some probs with suspected head gasket leak and that's going to be looked at this week but various people I've spoken to don't think its linked but have not suggested what it might be. Any views or ideas? Jim

Misting up of the windows is typical of having the heater vent set to recirculation.....check the lever is set to take in air from outside....or it could be that the cable has snapped or come off.....hope this is of some help.....Alan

Thanks again Alan, that seems to be what caused it-what a fool! Must have been reading too many horror stories on the site and thought the worst. Jim
