Air con Fan Problems (Not the normal problems)

:? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

Hi All,

My Bongo has developed an Air Con Fan problem, It dosent seem to be the normal resistor or fan seized issues people have as the fan seems to work perfectly at all speeds. In fact the screen vents are getting full air speed form the fan & the windscreen clears fine.

My problem is when I switch the mode button (I have the LED style Air Con controls) to blow air through the dash vents (you know the ones that blow the air in your face  ) I get nothing out of these vents. In a traditional manual heating control in a car I guess levers pull cables which divert air through different ducts & out of the vents. This is obviously different with bongos they ducting must be control my motors in some way???

Anyone have any ideas why Im getting no air from these vents. As I said the fan seems to be fine at all speeds.

Thanks in advance
Bonza

See if the operating levers on the right hand side below the dash are engaged. These are the levers that drive the flaps open /closed. My slipped out and all I got was a whiring from the motors.

Well done Bonza 10/10 :)

It was the link rod between the actuator (which is controlled by the electronics of the heater unit) & the big white plastic cam thingy. It was so obvious when I found it, but Im sure I would have been scratching my head for a while if it wasn't for you help.

I can see that this may be quite a common problem. So if anyone has the heater fan working but air not diverted to the correct places be sure to check the links in the left hand side of the drivers footwell.

Thanks again Bonza, your a Bonza Bloke!
