Air conditioning and full side conversions

Post by Chris Taylor » Sun Jul 03, 2011 5:03 pm

My rear air con was removed as part of the full side conversion before we picked it up.
I'm not quite sure what this entails so I'd like your help to figure it out.
I also have a poorly performing air con and want to sort it, so have had a look underneath today to see where pipes go.
I have the later climate control unit.

Are the front and rear units on a separate circuit, meaning my rear air con pipes are redundant? I hope so

I noticed that when they fitted the folding rear facing "taxi seat", one of the holes drilled through the bed to bolt through has punctured the fatter of the two rear bound coolant pipes.

Please tell me I'm wrong. [-o<

I believe its all one system as it all gets filled from the front

so if your converter pierced a pipe I should ask them to fix it

sorry wish I knew differently

Thanks for the prompt replies.
Just as I feared, and we have been running around with the aircon switched on and off for six months so my guess is the pump will be shot as well now.
It was good to be able to identify the part on lushprojects and I have sent a pic or two of the damage to the converter to see what their opinion is; mistakes happen and he has a good reputation on here, so will wait and see.
Thanks all
Chris
