Help AFT Roof pulling away from material
Hi opened my AFT roof today to find the screws that attach the material through the metal band into the plastic roof have pulled out at the top corners and at the rear offside corner adjacent to the lifting mechanism. Is there an easy fix to repair the plastic to allow the screws to locate back into it? Winter here in NZ so time to fix before spring camping trip. Thanks in advance
Re: Help ATF Roof pulling away from material
There are references to it on here somewhere. With mine I tried to remove the little plastic plugs but fund them too stiff so just Araldited them and tapped them back up with a hammer.
Best to just open the roof halfwayish so the fabric is not too taut but enough to get up there!
You may have to undo a couple of the very tight screws nearby to release the metal bar a bit..large cross head screwdriver will do it.
Quite satisfying when done!
Good luck
Tim

Re: Help ATF Roof pulling away from material
I had the same problem last week. Posted the question here and received a very helpful reply from Julian at 321away.
Basically, try and remove the screws, tap the plastic holders back in place and fix with Araldite then rescrew. I found the screws too tight to remove however, so Araldited the plastic plugs back in place with the screws in-situ, held in place with duck tape while the glue set and hey presto one fixed roof.
Hope that helps.

Why?...........Because somebody might wave back.
