Bongoing in France

Hello,

We are off on our first trip to France

We are travelling on ferry... can anyone tell us if we are allowed to take a gas bottle with us on the boat.... or do we have to buy one when we get there?

Not really sure to be honest but all I can tell you is the Mrs is full of gas and they let her in

We had no problems last year with a gas bottle going either direction - and I've got a "LPG" sticker on the back door. IIRC you are supposed to make sure it's switched off, that's all.

Gas is ok on the ferry, it's the tunnel that get excited and even then you can take bottles as long as they can check threy're isolated.

From what others have said, the "camping gaz" is much cheaper over there, so it's possibly worth taking over any empties & getting refills, I know one or 2 who do this

..... you can get all the usual sizes on the shelf in most larger supermarkets......no elf & safety cages there...but if your over for 2 weeks and on calor a full bottle should be fine.......and as Muz says..... Ferries no probs with gas bottles....
