I only heard about it last week by which time we had booked in at North Berwick (CC Yellowcraigs site) I passed a few Bongos heading to Shell Bay on our way out of Fife!

Thanks Tony - I'd a notion to take the bike across today but the bridge winds were high and with the squally showers I honestly couldn't be arsed.

Hope you all had a good time :)

Thoroughly enjoyed the couple of hours we spent there yesterday. everyone made us feel welcome and it was great to see people passionate about their Bongos.
My mind is made up. I need a Bongo in my life and the sooner the better

Thanks again and see you all soon

Don't blame you Alan. Those that were on the campsite on Thursday night said that it was the worst night of the lot, thankfully I was not there then.

At least the rain held off when a few of us did the Chain Walk on Saturday. Problem for me was that only the first few of my photos came out as my camera is not good at taking photos in falling light. We started at about 7pm due to the tides and it was dark when we finnished.

I was really glad of those spring assister when I travelled back home over the Forth Bridge today. A 40mph speed restriction was in force due to the high winds.

Back from the bash, only a one-nighter for us and only half a team, Muz Jr has exams this week so stayed at home to do some work. Which left me & Muzette to go off and explore the Kingdom of Fife!!

Big thanks to Matt, Brian & Tony for their help getting Hannah through the Chain-Walk. We weren’t planning to do it at all but she’s not afraid of a challenge and has been buzzing since she got back. Some great memories there, I’m looking forward to photos from others especially if they caught me falling off into the sea

Welcome to Shell Bay Caravan Park. But only if you’re Scottish, Welsh, German or Dutch :?

Straight to the play area. Do not feed the animals

We've just got back from the Fife do. It's a shame that the wind was a bit much, I did see a couple of awnings doing micro lite impressions, but the scenery around that area is great. We had just spent 4 days at Fort William where it rained a lot but we had 1 good weather day and again the views made up for it. It's about 430 miles back to our place so we left early Sunday after meeting a few of our Scottish Bongoites.

Well here is my pennyworth, not in the same class as Muz's as my little camera is not much good in falling light. Sorry Muz I did not get a photo of you falling into the drink, I was too busy catching you.

Image
All smiles at the start, most of us did not know what we were letting ourselves in for.

Image
The warning sign at the start. I guess that my hands were shaking too much.

Image
Just around the corner from the start and the big surprise.

Image
Looking at what we had got to do and trying to summons up some courage.

Image
Starting off.

Image
Hannah's turn to go.

Image
Matt waiting for us patiently after climbing the first set of chains.

Image
The first and hardest set of chains where Muz fell in the drink. Chains were wet and slippy.

Matt on the next set of chains.

Image
Brian forging ahead on another set of chains.

Image
Photo oportunity comes before climbing. :D

Image
Staring to get dark, no idea who is climbing these chains.

Image
Brian and Hannah in the cave. Almost as dark outside.

Image
On the last set of chains. No idea who ???

Image
Matt at the top of the last set of chains.

Image
All finnished. Time for a bottle of orange, courtesy of Muz, then off for a stiff whisky. I needed it.

Excellent Tony. Any more pics, there were more cameras there, I think Chris had one at the end and maybe Brian or Dave.

Ady, fortunately for me the water wasn't too deep and I managed to stay on my feet, otherwise my camera, phone and remote key fob may have malfunctioned later

Lasting memory for me is when I slipped off the ledge and fell, clinging to the chain, there was a shriek from beside me - "DAD!!!" - awwww, sweet  :D

Few more here.

We forgot to count,

Image
Er, the sea's not supposed to be this high. Recommended start 1 hour after high tide, this is 2+ hours.

Image
Tony making sure Hannah doesn't end up in the North Sea

Image
Matt on a recce

Image
The Muz's braving the first chain

Image
Pah, easy peasy, don't know what the fuss is about, Hannah rightfully looking smug

Image
Quick break and press on

Image
Paul starting the second chain

Image
Paul finishing the second chain, come on Dad

Image
After the first two or three chains

Image
Matt trying to fly

Easy bit

Image
And then up

Image
and down again

Image
Hannah starting a big one and Paul thinking what the ****************

Image
Hannah half way up with Matt making sure she's OK

Image
Tony's turn

Image
nearly there

Image
A breather before

Image
Coming down this, tricky one this-very slippy at the bottom

Image
A quick traverse and we're done

The triumphant chain gang

Then, we have to walk back to the site. But, Matt had a little pick me up, sort of browny orangy stuff made in Scotland.

Very odd. Never realised we had been driving on the wrong side of the road. Must have been Matt's pick me up.
Not exactly sure what the OUT sign is doing there. Perhaps a Roman relic.

Great photos folks, keep them coming.

Muz, I'm guessing you could'nt get hold of a Cornish Pastie in Fife as theres not a photo of Muzzette with one.
