We are coming too . We are stopping overnight at a CL in Lancashire on the way up and on the return journey. After the bash we are going for three nights to the caravan club site at Sheil Bridge. This will be my first incursion into Scotland, so I am really looking forward to it. Have got Smidge on order on line and also Avon SSS as read elswhere here on this forum.

Muzette firmly believes that "hello" in Scottish is och aye the noo and "goodbye" is see you Jimmy, take note anyone who bumps into her that weekend

She also believes that in order to speak Welsh you have to put "boyo" at the end of every sentence

A couple of years ago we had an unexpected visitor from Scotland and when they'd left she was very disillusioned that they weren't speaking Scottish

Note to visitors from further afield....... if local people are repeatedly saying 'Aye right' to you.... it does not follow that they are in agreament with whatever you have just said

Note to self......try not to say 'aye right' too many times at the Scottish Bash

ps. In Scotland English 20's generally exchange for Scottish 10's, which are worth the same.......... I will bring a load of 10's along with me in case anybody needs to swap for the correct currency.

Puts me in mind of a tale about an english class in a Scottish school, where the teacher was trying to explain the "double negative", stating that it is mostly used in error and would actually indicate a positive situation. To further illustrate this he stated that in contrast a "double positive" wouldn't indicate a negative situation.

To which someone answered from the back - "Aye, right"
