camera batteries are flat or I'd have taken a pic or two. It's a small job, but its nice to know this little hidden area has now been treated against tinworm.
Anyone got a spare rubber bumpstop hanging around? I've been after one for ages

You're more than welcome to my existing B/S should the above modification pan out mike.mikeonb4c wrote:

That's a great offer Ste and thanks - I've been meaning to sort this one for the last 4 years.bigdaddycain wrote:You're more than welcome to my existing B/S should the above modification pan out mike.mikeonb4c wrote:

P.S. nicstrike - I was wary of using araldite as although it is great stuff, I wondered if it might fracture/debond if the rubber gets a big whack and flexes. I used Evostick and (to my surprise, being honest) the repair has lasted 4 years. On repairing it, I've put a bead of Evostick as a kind of weld line to try seal out water ingress along the glue line, plus it should give and extra hold between ruber and metal. And now, it seems, you can buy new ones cheap![]()

Why doesn't your dog like bolts being put through backing plates?lazyb5 wrote: The dog chew is a possibility as long as i can get a bolt through the backing plate. Dog wont be happy though
A nice thought, i'd considered it... but ruled out polyurathane as being less compliant (if solid) Now a hollow, yet strong, poly bump stop with no backing plate might do the job.nicstrike wrote:
i was a bit wary , hence i doubled up with mechanical fixings too.it was either araldite or gripfill (my usual first choice it has to be said!)
just a thought for a lowered bongo , howsabout polyurathene bumpstops? normally a mod for landrovers etc but could be adapted to suit.
