Funny you mention that Ste... The Nissan garage when referring to my wife's all singing/dancing Micra... "Did she leave the lights on"?? It has a lights on alarm...! ](*,) I even pulled the rear seats forward to check the boot light went off.

The odd thing is, we had this car from new for 7 years, & apart from the usual circle check i have never taken an interest in it! Especially not in the last 4 :P

Another cause, my son just had was the Glove compartment light not going out ...... Of course the light comes on when you open it doesn't it, so we had to check the light like one does a fridge just to make sure it was going out.... it wasn't.

Good tip Geoff! I've got to ask though... How did you determine the light wasn't extinguishing?

Doesn't matter... i've worked it out... Feel if the light is warm when the glovebox has been left closed #-o

A pal of mine put his mobile phone on video then in the fridge for a few seconds, played it back and the light did go out.
Amazing. :D

It's easy..................

........................... you set a camera to <flash off> and <self timer> then press shutter release and place it in the Fridge/glove box.

Wait 15 secs and take camera out - if you have a picture the light was on.

PS this is much quicker process if you use a digital camera instead of a film one.
