Took a while, but at last our roof tent has a brand new, hole-free mozzie net.

Repair was carried out by Scottish Mountain Gear in Musselburgh (just outside Edinburgh).

Very pleased with result. They removed and stitched in a completely new mozzie net and result looks really good. Very high quality repair.

Only downside: cost. Initial estimate (which was given on the phone and heavily caveated) was £70. Final bill was £120. Which is a lot for a new bit of mesh, no matter how you look at it. Really don't know if I'd have gone ahead in the first place at that price - might have been tempted just to cut the net out completely.

However: it's done now. I suspect the pain of the cost will fade far quicker than the pleasure of seeing our Bella restored to full former glory. Not to mention the extra protection against pesky midges. Besides, it must have taken a good few hours to unpick the old net and stitch in new.

Thanks all for hints and tips, much appreciated.

Bring on the camping season!

Yea, its nice to get a proper job done, and the pain of the cost will fade long before the pleasure of restoring the net to its proper glory does. And the net is a great feature really 8)
