bongo won't start: then it does?

Post by xpanse0 » Sun Oct 08, 2006 10:57 pm

Hello. Just wondering if anyone can help me. I picked up a long awaited bongo from southampton 2 days ago and already I can't start it.

When I turn the key, I wait for the orange light to go and then try to start the car. One of two things happen. It either starts with no trace of a problem, or, it doesn't start at all; just one solitary clicking noise. PLEASE HELP ME, have I just wasted a whole load of money????

Thank you in advance.

Maybe teaching granny to suck eggs here, BUT ensure gear lever is correctly in park position, your symptoms happen with my Bongo at times and a waggle of the gear lever in and out of park usually does the trick. Hope this is of some help.
Don't worry, be happy

Could be as simple as requiring a clean and maybe new brushes/contacts. Take it to an auto-electrician for a quote. Cheaper than a new or recon unit.
