bongo wont start.

I have had a flat battery when i try to jump start from car all electrics work except ignition,no lights come on on dash, have checked all fuses ok is there a relay somewhere that might be stuck ?. it jump started 3 weeks ago but ive been away since then and bongo just stood .

The illumination lights are fed from the Tail, Number & Sidelights circuit which is fed from a relay and fuse.

The fuse to look at is the TAIL fuse under the bonnet;


When you say NO lights come on do you mean illumination lights or the actual warning lamps ?
If its the warning lights themselves then;

is the one in question but this powers all the circuits on the dashboard so the meters may well not be working as well.

thanks for reply yes ive checked that one already, its the warning lights on the dash panel that dont come on and the indicators dont work but do work on hazzard mode.

In that case is the tachometer / temperature / fuel gauges working as they are powered from the same fuse as the actual warning lights ? I take it that NO warning lights at all come on, or are there any ones that do ?


If the indicators don't come on, but they do under the Hazard switch then its either the fuse;

or the stalk switch may be faulty;

thanks guys, all fuses checked ok, areal poser this one, could it be something as simple as not enough amps in the battery even with a jump from my car?Ive disconnected the twin battery to see if the drain on my car was affecting it to no effect.

Yes I just re-read the first post I had missed the three week gap, you will need several hours of driving to re-charge the battery to anything like a useful level ! If you have a battery charger then try putting it on charge for a good 48 hours, that should give you a reasonable level, but if possible try leaving it on charge for longer, especially if its little mtce. charger limited to about 4 Amps.

It's egg on face time, bongo is fitted with an imobaliser and after opening van putting key in ignition, set up jump leads, who forgot to disarm it,as it works on a passive mode when key is in the off position and needs to be reset every time. just goe's to prove men can't multitask
