Hi.
I'm new to the whole bongo thing.
I've had a 97 2.5 for about 8 months and the central locking has just started to unlock itself at random moments. I keep coming back and it's unlocked itself again. Not good for traveling. I can here the unit clicking in the drivers door when it unlocks itself.
Where is the fusebox located so that I can take the fuse out? Would it be an earthing problem in the wiring going to the door?
Thanks.

There are two fuses involved, to stop the doors solenoids themselves this 30 Amp fuse needs to be pulled;

The other fuse powers the stalk on the steering column, but also many other misc. circuits;

The circuit is here;

Hi Caleymatt, (I'm going to kick myself for getting involved in this..)
Do you have a CL remote/alarm system fitted?
If you have.. Where does this anomaly occur..? Have you only just noticed this outside your house/on the drive, that sort of thing...?
Have you ruled out fob meddlers... Kids/poltergeist activity/this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaHQ4_BMeJY They may look cute, but it can seriously stuff up a washing machine...
.... The dog can be a bit of a hazard too.!

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Hi
Funny you mention this...it's happened a couple of times when we have come back to the Bongo...I usually get a bit of a telling off from Tony for not locking the vehicle, but I wonder if it's doing what yours is.
It has to be an alarm glitch, I reckon, as I never alarm it at home...it's in a yard with 7 foot steel gates, and a fierce pussycat, so not much chance of meddlers, but the glitch has occurred a couple of times in town.
Do-Doo-Do-Dooo ( sounds of the Twighlight Zone)....maybe it's aliens
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Re: Central locking unlocking itself
Hi.
It's not got remote central locking, or an alarm that I know of. It first did it 2 days ago when I was about to go to sleep in it. Just unlocked itself. The mechanism clicked twice. Then it did it several times when I was sitting in traffic and in a car park later on the same day. The mechanism clicked about 6 times in the carpark!!!!!!!!
Thanks for showing me the fuse. But excuse my lack of knowledge about where the fusebox actually is. I know of the one under the bonnet, but where is the one under the dash?
I'm just going to see if it's unlocked itself again.
Thanks.
Matt

Re: Central loccking unlocking itself
It's to the right of the steering wheel by yer knee... A rectangle'ish hole at the top to pull the cover panel away!
This is a long shot.. But, try locking the drivers door with it open, then jiggle the loom between the door & body..? The one clipped to the door hinge..
