Post by Mattylad » Wed Apr 20, 2011 5:46 pm

Hello All,

Ok 10 points for the 1st person to tell me what this is on my battery, I have a sneaky suspicion of what it is but since I have never seen one its a pure guess and I dont want to suggest it as it may influence peoples answers lol.

Three pics below. the last is the loom coming out from the rear and attacching to the battery and going somewhere. lol.

It's a relay for auxiliary lights - PIAA make most of the lights used by WRC teams.

Such things are well known to assume a cloak of invisibility when crossing large bodies of water, such as those between Japan and the UK.

Even if they aren't there now, they almost certainly were once.

That all depends what it's connected to - it may be there to make the horn work, as when the original wiring packs up it's easiest to just by-pass it all with a new relay and wiring.

Try disconnecting it and see if anything stops working.

yup PIAA relay probably had chrome bullbar and twin or dippable fancy spots on it and harvested by the importer.....
