Thanks Geoff

I dont have one to hand, but can get on off a friend at the end of the week. I was a little concerned at the fact that the wires from the passenger switch of the drivers side, change colour when they come out of the side of the door. But the drivers window works ok.

I will check all the dodgy wiring again and get hold of a meter before I look any further. From what people have been saying, this looks the likely cause, just tracing the fault.

I will let you know how I get on. Its becoming a bit more urgent now the good weather is here

Yup the wires change color in the last loom, so DR1 loom drivers side - Orange & Red/White, then the F loom - Orange & R/W again, then DR2 passenger door - O & R/W then after going thru the passenger switch they become Red and Green, just to add a little spice to life or something ;-)

Lol, ok so Im a muppet, I removed my door cards to install new speakers and replace drivers side wire loom. I took the door opener handle thing off. What an absalute ba***rd to put it back on, I was almost crying with frustration but got there in the end. Never again now, thanks folks.

I just slide it through the weird shaped hole at a 30/45 degree angle still attached...
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Solved!!! :D :D :D

Thanks Geoff for your advice and posts. I gave the whole thing a proper going over and re done all the dodgy wiring. (its not perfect now, but short of a new loom.....)

So, the post should end here with big smiles at another job done and the ol' girl back to normal......

However, I am big enough and old enough to admit when an act of pure stupidity has been carried out, and I post this to save this happening to anyone else....

It was as I was putting the drivers window switch back in to place when I accidentally caught the "ON" switch...............

Not.....really.......noticed......that......before.......!!

Oh how well laughed at ourselves!
