I have a back tyre which needs a little air, unfortunately i cannot get the tyre valve off.
The previous owner put on a set of snazzy red caps. All the other caps unscrew no problem at all, its just this one.
I have sprayed WD40 onto the valve but it still wont move.
Anyone give me a suggestion I would be most grateful
I wish - had pliers on the valve and another pair on the rubber going into the tyre - just would not budge.
Think i will take it to a tyre centre and let them at it.
It's something to do with galvanic tables and metallurgist stuff that I cannot spell or explain but I think they may have boned together permanently - Tyre Centre is the answer.........
I was in Cardiff so called into the fast food equivalent for tyres They only charged me £10 so sounds like about the norm.
It had rusted on, they took the other 3 off and sprayed some grease into them to stop them rusting.
Trouble is i have an odd one now
2 mins with a 5 inch grinder, just carefully take one side off the cap with the grinder, then the heat will open up the remainder off the threads, off with pliers.
Me with an angle grinder - picture a monkey with a machine gun !!!
One reason i wont use powertools anywhere near my beloved bongo - especially now i have had it converted, sparks and gas dont go !!
