Fly by Wire

We've had our Bongo looked at at a Bongo supplier to see why it's getting hot. It passed the dreaded pressure test and the 'sniff' test though on the pressure test the top hose started bulging.
A new rad (Genuine Mazda) and hose have been fitted, and I asked him to look at the head as there was no bleed tube. He telephoned me to say the van was ready and said that it was an early example of a 'fly by wire' Bongo, where the throttle peddle was connected electronically to the fuel pump instead of a cable, and that I did have a bleed tube, but it's connected further down on the head and tucked below the edge of the engine bay.

A fly by wire Bongo...up there with the F-16! They are delivering her back tomorrow thankfully, as we are going away for Easter in her

The correct technical term is 'drive-by-wire'. At least its fixed :D :D
