Help with rear washer?

Post by bonglos » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:56 pm

Can anyone offer advice as to what might be wrong with my rear windscreen washer and how to sort it. Switch works fine and I can hear the motor/pump running. There is water in the tank bottle (unles there is a separate one for the rear windscreen) but no water appears. The spray nozzle looks clear.........................?

open the rear tailgate, look for the rubber gromet that comes from the body to the tailgate, the one on the left, not the lecky one on the right.
gently pull the gromet out of the body side. about 5 inches down the pipe in the roof is a one way valve, check its clear by removeing it etc.dont drop the ends of the pipes or you will be swearing. get someone to push the rearwash to test, to check for flow to this point.

I had a similar problem and it was the pump that was gummed up.
Remove the washer bottle, take out the pumps and give them a clean out along with the bottle.

Chances are, yes... If you have a 67-501B snaking its way along the inner wing, under the header tank, through the bulkhead & up the A pillar..?!! http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html

=D> Good news!!

Sometimes in the summer with the heat & if not used for a long time it takes a while for the screen wash to travel from front to back... (You really got to drive fast to push it over the roof to the tailgate!!)
