Hold button not working

Post by Gigantor » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:10 pm

Hi guys - hoping one of you could help me [-o< [-o<

I added the plasma strip to my gear selector as well as adding a voltage dial with a switch between my Leisure battery and main starter battery. It all looks very nice but now my hold button doesn't work - the hold light doesn't come on and the gears are unaffected when driving

The only thing I can think that I might have done is broken the blue wire's connection on the hold switch when I yanked the knob off (careful now [-X ) Is there any way I can take the knob apart to get at the switch gubbins or do I need to replace the part? Also, this is just a guess - does anyone have any other ideas as to how I've knackered it before I buy a new gear shift?

Cheers,

Dave

Did you release the wire to give a bit of slack before trying to remove it ?

there is a little plastic clip to hold the wire and take up the slack when its in the proper position.

The full description is here that I did. I didn't look to see how to get the switch itself off, as it wasn't necessary, but I imagine that it is possible.
