What a charmer!
I was only trying to point out that cheap oils don't pay in the long run. I did, if you had read my post correctly, state 'unless it was a good named quality brand' but you chose to ignore that. Never mind, I will pipe down now & leave you to it. What do I know eh?
I agree - as a general principle, putting stuff whose pedigree you might have any reason to doubt into a piece of expensive machinery, could prove to be a false economy. What is a few quid anyway when its a fluid (is it actually oil?) change thats only done every zillion miles. OK, so for the informed, it turns out Costco appear to be OK (though surely as price driven generalists they must be tempted to buy on price not on brand consistency?), but we are talking about general principles here.
Things do change on this forum. 2 years ago we didn't have a professional autobox mechanic on here (Dandy was attempting to hold down all quarters). We do now (some say he can't tell the difference between a Christmas turkey and the trundle pinion of a Bongo cross-torque unit, and that he splashes Miller DM under his armpits as deodorant - all we know, is he's called Alacrity) , but I hope we don't upset him
