Hi being a time served painter in quality bodyshops, and now a trainer in vehicle damage assessing i know a bit about this subject. The panel costs seem ok and should take about 5 hours a side, Mazda used to pay us 7 hrs per side to replace Mazda 6 arches under warranty as a guide. painting would be about 4 hrs per panel plus 1 hr per blend panel if blends are needed. So depending on hourly rate at the garage average £30 per hr you can work out rough labour costs. Paint and materials are usually added to this and again as a guide Mazda used to pay £110 per side(qtr panel paint and blend rear doors) but that is using high quality paint and laquer made by Du Pont. The seam talked about i assume is the bead of seam sealer used to seal the joint between the inner and outer arch, on the mazda 6 this was the problem, as on a certain run of chassis nos the sealer was there but had missed the joint, causing water ingress between the panels.

Thanks for the into. Have to admit I'm shocked at the amount of labour involved. I should have knocked the price down more on purchase. Time to invest in some hammerite. Anyone else got a hand painted black bongo ? :-)
