Fuel pump seals

Hi im new to this site, just bought my AFT bongo in white but have had the usual fuel leaks from the o-rings on the diesel pump. Ive replaced the o-rings but the advance piston and springs all fell out, does anyone know the correct fitment of these parts? ive uploaded a pic here http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa2/ ... Tried all the manuals and pics on here but nothing shows this part in detail only the domed cover, proving tricky to find pump internals on tinterweb, thanks anyway

cheers that helps a little, ive found now that im not getting any fuel upto the pump when cranking so wont start, think ive buggered it up lol.
Ive taken off the supply hose and theres no suction whatsoever from the pump and hose is dry, any ideas? just wish there was a primer pump on the filter housing

Its a 96 on an Nplate 2.5diesel, been starting fine but with the leaks which ive sorted but now wont start or draw any fuel, im guessing its something to do with the advance piston and springs that fell out but im not sure if I have them in correctly

great pic thanks, sorted the starting, turns out to be an air lock in the fuel lines so used a mityvac so bleed system, now its running its down on power compared to before the fuel leak, im thinking ive put something in wrong on the advance piston side but the diagram from the previous link doesnt show the parts I had fall out, does anyone feel brave enough to remove the domed cover on the side of their pump and take a pic of the order the shims, springs and piston are fitted? thanks

Mine arrived yesterday. Now if the weather's ok, I'm going to attempt them tomorrow. I will try and take pics if I can. Not looking forward to it, if I bugger something up then it's going to lessen my chances of getting it moved to a garage. Still, fingers all crossed eh? Mind you, that's just probably some good exercise for them considering how finicky the job looks

I can't help but think that with all these 'leak' type threads going about, that the recent cold snap has had a large part to play in all these seals suddenly going.

Surely they can't all wear out at once?

the cold is a killer of o-rings and various seals especially if theyre old, did you manage to getyours sorted? dont suppose you managed to take any pics if you did? cheers

Yup, got 'em sorted. Bit of panic as couldn't find the blind seal at first. Mirror definitely helps. I did take some pics. I'm sorry, I forgot.

I will try to post them tomorrow eve. I didn't take the piston bit out or the washers, but it looks like the 'cup' one sits upwards on top of the flat one.
