white smoke loss of power engin stops.

Post by kitebongo » Tue Jul 14, 2009 4:25 pm

HELP
when the above happens, I restart the engine and bongo goes.
can anyone advise how to re4solve.
before my bongo wows I did use fuel from a bio fuel supplier. on the was home it broke down.
on turning the key no fuel discharged from the engine pipe. after opening the top of the tank and blowing the fuel started to flow. Ever sine it has intermittent cut out and restarted.
engine specialist said the could be a leaf in the fuel tank. WHEN THE IS A BLOCKAGE from the tank fuel intake it causes the jet timer to go out of sink causing white smoke and stoppage. he went on to say because the is no suction the object falls away and the engine restarts.
has any other bongonought experienced similar problem, and if so how did you sort it?

I did use fuel from a bio fuel supplier

then change the fuel filter

as they tend to loosen all the crap

and will block it

Biofuel can clear crud out of the fuel system - have you tried the banjo filter? Also, may need to change fuel filter.
A leaf in the tank is possible, but extremely unlikely. I suppose the biofuel could have loosened a lump of something in the tank :?
White smoke is a sign of unburnt fuel.

The mind boggles as to how one even sees the leaf, let alone retrieves it! Endoscopy technician by any chance?

Hi this was from Manie..

After spending just £1800 pounds between two garages .
I am glad to say our bongo is fixed. The cause of our bongo to keep cutting out was a leaf in the desiel tank.
Manda & Jane
What an expensive leaf

You were lucky :)
