Electrics -

Post by nennyty » Thu Oct 07, 2010 6:46 pm

Green light on Zig Cf8 went out and didn't re-appear even with new battery - took it in for check - it is working fine but the Battery Status PCB Board needs replacing - Zig still making the Cf8 but don't stock these parts any more apparently. Does anyone know where I could find this part? Can't run to a new Zig at the moment and it is reassuring to know that the battery is ok - miss that green light!

Also, if plugged into mains hook up, can 12volt stuff be used at the same time? i.e. switch Zig to 'On Site' and '12volt on' also?

Whilst I'm on does anyone have a little rocker switch with little red led light which has 4 yellow wires going/coming to/from the Zig - can't find what it is supposed to do - It's on the panel, just below the sink - Westward Leisure were the converters in about 2005/6 - have emailed them but no reply as yet.

Hope that's not too many things at once! Any help on any of them will be gratefully received.

Your very fortunate the circuit was found last week! So it should be fixable;

If you can get the board out of the unit, I'm sure someone local could repair it with the info. above but if you have difficulty finding someone drop me a PM.

Yes you can use the 12 volt side when plugged into EHU, it charges the battery and can supply about 4 Amps for other devices.

As to the switch no idea, can you provide a photo ?

Thank you so much, I'll show the digrams and picture to Bongo mender and see what can be done. Yes I have a photo showing the little switch but how do I post it here?

Pictures: See the "Using the Bongo Forum" under the Board index http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =42&t=9285
Thought about the switch do you have a Fridge ? Because the CF8 doesn't have a relay to handle switching the power to the fridge maybe a switch was added ?

The problem on the previous LED board was a couple of tracks blown to smithereens, so check the tracks on the back of the board carefully and make sure they all exist!

Can't get my head around all that 'how to load a picture' info! Will try harder after weekend when I'll also try and get a pic from the back or the switch. Hopefully Westward Leisure will get back and tell me what it was/is. There was a fridge, a dometic 3way but all the gas had been removed and it was supposed to work on vehicle battery - well it would have if it had worked at all. Perhaps that was an isolating from vehicle battery switch but it still lights up if flicked, so really if its not needed I'd rather disconnect it. Now have new fridge at great expense Waeco CR50 which works 12v and 240v via a rectifier. Thank you so much for all the Cf8 stuff.
