Hi guys! Well now we have a problem. The fat black hose from the engine under the drivers seat is a mess , looks like its about to blow as it is all swollen and a bit messy. We have ordered a new one but have been advised to ensure the mech who does it follows the fact sheet info. But me and Mr S are absolutely dim in techy issues and so I have the job of trying to describe the hose problem and hope someone will advise us which fact sheet to refer to .I have done a search on hoses and also on overheating but have to admit I havent a clue what I am really looking for ( and neither does he). Any advice is gratefully received,

Hello Salmon,
I think the fact sheet referred to is the coolant replacement workshop manual sheet which is obtainable from the New Zealand website. (Sorry I havn't got the link on this computer, you will have to do a search). The cost to download the sheets are 10 dollars which is about ?5.45 in real money. The items covered are replacing coolant, thermostat and waterpump. Hope this helps and Good Luck.

thanks guys for helpin out with the hose advice. We are now waiting to get it all fixed in plus obvioulsy the coolant job. Seems getting a mech who is available and competent is a problem. Our usual guy is always fully booked until mid September. We did momentarily consider having a go ourselves but decided against it because it is just too risky when you dont know your a*** from your elbow . The we remembered a mech we used to use locally who is a rather eccentric mechy chap... we phoned and mentioned 'Bongo' and he said ' bloody hell, not one of those!'. Sounds encouraging enough ........at least he'd heard of it! love Salmon x
Well having waited a week for the Bongo to get to the garage for the hose and coolant system to be changed all does not bode well!! On ringing the mechanic this afternoon to see if the Bongo is ready he said, ' Well I've just had 3 mechanics commit suicide so can you give me a ring back later or even better in the morning!'
