You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Hey there,
Just wondered if you guys were meeting up again soon?
Just noticed this thread and see that you are in my area, Salisbury. Would like to meet with other bongo owners and see what you are all up to.
Let me know if and when

Re: Bongo in Fareham, Hampshire
Hi dext924, we are hoping to meet again but we all seem to have clashing calanders at the mo. Last time we met on Portsdown Hill but that's a way for you to travel for just a couple of hours. Maybe you know somewhere between Salisbury and Portsmouth?
One suggestion that came up when chatting was to have a semi-regular monthly date up by the Churchillian, maybe something like the 1st Tue of the month about 7 to 7.30ish? If its grot we can retreat into the pub, if its fine we can sit on the hill and admire the view of both the Solent and our Bongos!
What do others think?

Mmmm.. Not sure of any places of note. Not been much further than Southampton to be honest. Is the New forest too far away for you guys? We go there often and loads of places to meet. Could get a BBQ going!?! only other places I can think of is Romsey.
if there is somewhere near you have in mind, let me know and I will see what I can do.
We are here all July, and away in August. Taking the bong to Luxembourg for a few weeks!! Cant wait....

Hi all,
Yes meeting up is going to be tough at the moment due to work/hols, but I do like the BBQ/Romsey idea as a halfway house. Guess the thing to do is firstly to decide on a suitable date - then we can fine tune the location.

Well, we are around until the end of July, then away 3weeks in august. We could maybe look at something in septmber? I guess people are going to be busy now, and we are running out of weekends. Why don't we all put on weekends we are free up until end September and see what we come up with?

Hi all
Have just seen this thread a bit late
happy to meet up at the next gathering..... Maybe Aunt Trumpet and Mrs Aunt Trumpet may make an appearance with their Bongo too
...
Portsdown Hill, great views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight (either Mick's Monster Burger bar car park or the Churchillian , great locations to meet up )
Maybe see you all at the next one

Once you are at Southampton, its only about 15 mins along the M27 to Fareham, then turn left to go up to Portsdown Hill..
Its a lovely area , plenty of parking (2 big car parks incuding The Churchilian) and amazing views, well worth the trip at least once
Maybe see you up there !

If you have a Satnav the pubs postcode is PO6 3LS
As Eat Aunt says, views are absolutely breathtaking. The IOW is clear, Portsmouth looks like toy-town, you can see from nr the Witterings in Sussex all along the coast to Fawley, and on a really clear day you can just see the coast of France on the horizon!
Hopefully see you up there sometime.
Is anyone free on Mon or Tue eve next week just for a brief 'eyeball' [now we see who are ex-CBers,
!]?
